BIO

María Fernanda Gobera (born 1997, Mexico City, Mexico) is a contemporary painter and draughtswoman based in Mexico City. She works primarily with oil paintings on linen, as well as watercolor and gouache illustrations on cotton paper. Gobera is best known for her figurative language depicting scenes with a distinctive female perspective that blur the boundaries between dreams and reality, employing vibrant colors, psychological symbolism, and personal memories.

Her work explores social behaviors, the human relationship with nature, the female experience, and the occult. Characterized by expressive color palettes and layered narratives, Gobera’s compositions invite introspection and emotional resonance. Through her imagery, she constructs a visual dialogue between the conscious and the subconscious, capturing the tension between vulnerability and transcendence.

María Fernanda Gobera has exhibited her work in Trances at Foro La Paz, Trascendencia y Permanencia at Haab Proyect/Art Triggeria, De Umbrales e Incendios at Casa Milan, Salón 173 with Colectivo 173, and the Art Festival represented by Ajeno, all in Mexico City, Mexico.
